SMC has been awarded ISO 9001:2015 certification following an independent audit covering the company’s supply chain, warehousing, technical service and customer support functions.
What the certification covers
- Supplier qualification and incoming inspection of equipment and chemicals
- Product traceability from purchase order to delivery documentation
- Calibration and control of inspection and test equipment
- Complaint handling and corrective action follow-up
The audit examined how quality is controlled in practice rather than only on paper: how a non-conforming delivery is identified and dealt with, how measurement equipment is calibrated, and how customer complaints are investigated to a measurable conclusion.
Why it matters to customers
For industrial customers, supplier certification reduces audit load. Where a plant is itself certified or audited by its own customers, a certified supply chain simplifies the evidence trail for purchased products and services.
Certification is a starting point, not a finish line. The management system has to survive a busy quarter, not just an audit week.
